The Therapies - Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage is a treatment that has developed and been practised in India for generations. It is part of what is known as Ayurvedic bodywork.

It is carried out on the face, scalp, ears, neck, shoulders, arms and upper back and although only carried out on the upper body it represents a de-stressing programme for the whole body.

It is non-invasive leaving you fully clothed and is received whilst you are seated.

Indian Head Massage is excellent for the relief of stress, anxiety and mental tension. It also helps to improve alertness and concentration levels by clearing the mind and re-energising mental capacity.

Physiological benefits include:

  • Relieving tension in the neck and shoulder area.

  • Helping in the relief of headaches and eyestrain.

  • Improving muscle tone to the areas being treated.

  • Increasing blood circulation to the head which in turn can help to promote hair growth and improve the condition of the scalp.

  • Aiding the removal of waste and toxins from the head and neck area by improving Lymphatic drainage.

Indian Head massage is an excellent way of relieving stress and mental tension in the workplace. It is also very beneficial for people who work at a computer all day helping in the relief of shoulder, upper back and neck tension.
