What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a form of medicine that is becoming more and more
popular as people search for alternatives to address their health
issues. It is safe and deep acting, and can be effective in most
illnesses, whether emotional or physical. It can help people through
times of upheaval, change and stress and can lead to increased self
awareness and personal growth.
Homeopathy is powerful, but free from unwanted side effects because it works with the body’s natural defences.
The medicines, or ‘remedies’, are made from highly diluted substances, which are made by specialist pharmacies. They are usually given in tablet or liquid form.
The consultation
The first consultation lasts around 90 minutes. During this time,
I will want to find out as much as possible about the illness and
about you as an individual. I will ask you about your medical history,
dietary preferences, lifestyle, emotional and physical traumas,
stresses, sleep, dreams etc.
Homeopaths recognize that illness often begins on an emotional level and may later manifest itself on the physical level – the in-depth questioning during the consultation helps to find the root of the problem, so the right remedy can be found to begin the healing process.
After the consultation, I will review your notes carefully and send your remedy to you by post.
How many consultations will I need?
Most people need more than one session but it depends on the person
and the illness – more long-standing or chronic disease take
longer than acute ailments.
Regaining health is a gradual process, and real advances can be made by committing to this process. Follow-ups will usually be made at monthly or six-weekly intervals to assess your progress.
