What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a natural Holistic Therapy, which uses specific
pressures and massage techniques on your feet. It stimulates
your circulation, nervous, and lymphatic systems, and helps
to de-toxify your body; it also helps boost your immune system
and balance your body's energies.
It is believed that your whole body is mapped or 'reflected'
onto your feet. By activating 'reflex' points through reflexology,
your body's own healing processes are stimulated. Reflexology
works both physically and emotionally and leaves you with
a feeling of deep relaxation and well-being.
What is Vertical Reflexology (VRT)?
VRT is a type of reflexology that is applied to the top
of your feet while you stand, It can be used alone or together
with conventional Reflexology.
What can it help?
Reflexology has been found to help many conditions, including:
-
aches and pains
-
arthritis
-
anxiety and stress
-
bowel conditions
-
period problems
-
grief and depression
-
headaches
-
insomnia
-
low energy
and much more.
As it induces relaxation it is helpful as a preventative
treatment for those with stressful jobs or lifestyles
What Happens During a Treatment?
At the first appointment you will be asked some basic health
and lifestyle questions. This will help me to tailor the treatment
to your needs, and will be reviewed at each appointment. Everything
will remain confidential.
You will only need to take off your shoes and socks. I use
a light cream during treatment, followed by a short foot massage
at the end.
Some clients worry about the condition of their feet, especially
if coming straight from work! I can assure you that this is
quite normal and will not be a problem for me. I will always
clean your feet before starting a treatment.
Although Reflexology is non-invasive and very safe, clients
with certain medical conditions may be asked to check with
their GP before treatment.
Will Reflexology tickle or hurt?
Some areas of your feet may be more sensitive than others,
but I do not set out to hurt you, and will adjust the pressure
to suit you. Those with ticklish feet are often surprised
that Reflexology does not affect them.
Please ask for a 'taster' session if you are concerned.
