ACUPUNCTURE
Originating in the Far East acupuncture is a system of Chinese Medicine
that has been developed and refined over the past 3,000 years.
According to Chinese Medicine, good health and well being relies upon the
balanced functioning of the body's organs and the smooth flow of the body’s
natural energy 'Qi'. Ill health and disease are viewed as disharmony and imbalance
within these basic principles. Symptoms of ill health are a result of specific
patterns of disharmony within the individual.
Acupuncture is a holistic form of medicine treating the whole person focussing
on the root cause of disharmony within the individual’s ‘Qi’.
In this way acupuncture can treat specific symptoms and also have a hugely
beneficial effect on general health and well being.
Acupuncture aims to regulate the flow of 'Qi' through out the body by inserting
fine, sterile, single use needles into specific points along the natural pathways
or ‘meridians’. Traditional diagnosis allows a tailored treatment
to every individual ensuring that the best therapeutic results are achieved.
What can acupuncture treat?
As a holistic system, acupuncture views health not only on a physical level
but also on a mental and emotional level. Emotional disharmonies such as anxiety,
stress, depression, anger, sadness, and grief can often result in physical
symptoms. Acupuncture can therefore be used to treat the mental, emotional
and physical levels of an individual. It is very effective in treating many
problems including:
